Linda Lane Park Popular for its Beach Access, More

Surfers, swimmers and sunbathers covet Linda Lane Park’s beach access. Exercise enthusiasts use it to access the San Clemente Beach Trail while families enjoy its green space for relaxing, picnicking and playing games. Younger children are delighted by the park’s new playground equipment with its ocean blue theme and multiple slides.
Located just north of the San Clemente Pier at 400 Linda Lane, the park’s low slope down to the beach offers visitors a magnificent ocean view as well as a place to picnic and green, grassy open space.
“I like this park because it has so many things to do there,” Rodrigo Ramirez, 12, wrote in his entry for a City of San Clemente essay contest. “First you can walk on the beach then go to the park and play on the fun playground. You can also have a picnic and a barbecue at this park.”
Linda Lane Park has four picnic tables, barbecues, multiple benches and a drinking fountain. There are no sports fields and no rest rooms. There are rest rooms on the beach, about a five minute walk from the park. There is metered street parking and lot parking at $1.50 per hour from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dogs are not allowed in the park, but dog owners may access the beach trail at the beach end of Linda Lane.
Linda Lane Park is one of San Clemente’s oldest parks, but its playground equipment is brand new, whimsical and colorful. Installed this past spring, the playground offers rubberized and sand surfaces, large and small play apparatus, swings and jungle gym.
“Linda Lane is my favorite park because it has a new slide,” Emily Anderson, 5, wrote in her essay submission.
To reach Linda Lane Park, take Avenida Palizada toward the ocean from El Camino Real. Turn right on Encino Lane, and then keep to the right down to the park on the right.

This is the 15th in a weekly series highlighting San Clemente’s parks. The article is provided by the city through its Beaches, Parks and Recreation Department.
